MECO-FMSCI National Karting Championship – Round 2 Thrills Coimbatore

The MECO-FMSCI National Karting Championship returned to the CoASTT circuit in Coimbatore for Round 2, bringing together the nation’s fastest kart racers for a weekend of high-speed drama and nail‑biting finishes. With SIDVIN Energy Engineering as the presenting sponsor and MRF Tyres as the partner sponsor, the event attracted a massive 74 entries from across India, reaffirming karting’s growing popularity in the country.

Sibling Rivalry Steals the Show
The headline act came from Bengaluru’s Madesh brothers – Ishaan and Rohaan – representing Peregrine Racing. In the Senior Max category, the seven‑time national champion Ishaan Madesh produced a flawless performance, holding off his brother in both the Pre‑Finals and Finals to score a memorable double win.

“I’m happy to be back on the Yamaha R3 after a few seasons on KTM. I had a good lap today, but it is all so close. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s race,” said Ishaan.

Junior Max Delivers Close Battles
In the Junior Max category, Kozhikode’s Shonal Kunimal (Birel Art India) took the Finals win, while Pune’s Arafat Sheikh (Crest Motorsports) claimed the Pre‑Finals. Both races were decided by tight margins, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats.

Dominance in the Younger Categories
The newly introduced Mini Max category saw Chennai’s Rivaan Dev Preetham (MSPORT) dominate with victories in both the Finals and Pre‑Finals.
Similarly, Micro Max saw Shiv Tummala (Bengaluru, Peregrine Racing) pull off a comfortable double, showing his class against the competition.
